baularchive.com is the culmination of Sally Grossman’s forty-plus year long interest in the Bauls and has been conceived, inspired, and generously supported by her with the advice and cooperation of Charles Capwell. Its core is the collection of high quality professionally videoed performances of Baul songs whose lyrics are being transcribed and translated by Bengali enthusiasts from varied backgrounds in music, theater, literature, anthropology, physics, etc. Advice and support have been provided by several American and Indian ethnomusicologists, and we encourage your contributions via the 'contact' tab in the menu bar.
